Postdoctoral research in the Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy Department and the Centre for Migration Studies at the University of British Columbia. My current work focuses on the impact of the platform economy on immigrant workers in Canada. This work is funded by the CERC – Bridiging Divides research program. I have a PhD from the Geography Department in the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, where I worked on my dissertation titled “Credentialized Aspirations: The mobility journeys of Mexican professionals in North America“, which won the Best Dissertation Award of the Economic Geographies Specialty Group at the American Association of Geographers in Detroit 2025. My teaching has focused on upper-year Urban Geography classes at the Department of Geography at UBC.

During 2022-2023, I was a Visiting Assistant in Research at the MacMillan Center for International Area Studies at Yale, as part of the Fox International Fellowship. Professionally, I have worked as a Researcher for the GovLab Data Program, ILDA, DistritoTec and the OCDS Latam Helpdesk, where I have worked on projects related to migration, artificial intelligence, cities and open data in general.

I live in between Monterrey (Mexico) and Vancouver (Canada). I like to swim laps, bake and spend as much time as possible with my dog Watson. I think and talk in Spanglish.

Investigadora posdoctoral en el Departamento de Ciencias de la Ocupación y Terapia Ocupacional y el Centro de Estudios de Migración de la Universidad de Columbia Británica. Mi trabajo actual se centra en el impacto de la economía de plataformas en la vida de los trabajadores inmigrantes en Canadá. Este trabajo se realiza en el marco del programa de investigación Bridiging Divides. Tengo un doctorado del Departamento de Geografía de la Universidad de British Columbia en Vancouver, donde trabajé en mi disertación titulada “Credentialized Aspirations: The mobility journeys of Mexican professionals in North America”, la cual gano el premio a Mejor Disertación del Grupo de Geografía Económica de la Asociación Americana de Geografía en Detroit, 2025.Mi labor docente se ha centrado en clases de Geografía Urbana en el Departamento de Geografía de UBC.

Durante 2022-2023, fui Asistente Visitante en Investigación en el MacMillan Center for International Area Studies de Yale, como parte de la Beca Internacional Fox. Profesionalmente, he trabajado como Investigadora para el GovLab Data Program, ILDA, DistritoTec y el OCDS Latam Helpdesk, donde trabajé en proyectos relacionados con migración, inteligencia artificial, ciudades y datos abiertos en general.

Vivo entre Monterrey (México) y Vancouver (Canadá). Me gusta nadar, hornear y pasar todo el tiempo posible con mi perrita Watson. Pienso y hablo en spanglish.
